Ervin and Joella Bontrager – General Contractor
Ervin is the owner and founder of Mountain Dream Builders LLC. As the general contractor you’ll enjoy his open and honest approach to building your dream home. His experience of construction started as a young 14-year-old Amish boy and has grown up with him. He created his own roofing company in Indiana in his early twenties. But after marrying his dear wife, Joella, they decided living on a little mountain farm in Tennesse is what they wanted. Joella has worked alongside him in keeping the books and growing the family business. Eight years later they are still serving their community by building beautiful homes to enrich the Appalachian neighborhood. Their passion is giving you a home that matches your lifestyle and unique tastes and will help you achieve that while being mindful of budgets and timelines. Jesus is Lord of their life, so anything they put their mind to, will be done with integrity.
Joseph Bontrager- Project Manager
Joe is the head crew leader and project manager of Mountain Dream Builders LLC. He has experienced leading his own construction team in Indiana. In 2023 we were fortunate when he, his wife Bethany, and 3 little girls moved locally and joined the Mountain Dream Builders vision. Ervin and Joe are brothers, so it has been like seeing a well oiled machine work when those two get together on a project. He is motivated and brings laughter to his crew while leading with confidence and open communication. He loves the Lord and serves others with passion.
Chayton Schafer -Project Manager
Chayton is a crew leader and project manager of Mountain Dream Builders LLC. He became part owner of the business in 2023 and is ready to contribute whatever it takes to succeed. Prior to becoming owner he has spent 3 years under the careful tutorship of Ervin and has become as passionate about quality and efficiency as we have . He has excelled in every aspect of building and keeps a healthy wholesome atmosphere on the crew. Leading with reliability and vision while keeping clear communication between you and the workers.
Lewis Miller -Crew Leader
Lewis is an inspirational and confident crew leader here at Mountain Dream Builders. He joined our team in 2024 after moving here from Pennsylvania and now leads the men to create homes with structural integrity while working as efficiently as possible. He enjoys to work hard and see the craftmanship come together. He will always have a kind word for everyone and is a gentleman to the core.
